Hi, my name is Vas. I am an Orthodox Priest, and art & music teacher at a small school in New Jersey. Prior to becoming a teacher I worked as a web designer and graphic artist for almost ten years. I was mostly self taught until I decided to pursue my associates degree a few years ago. My original intention was to major in Graphic Design, but after taking a few drawing and painting classes, I changed my major to fine arts.
I also have a passion for music, and have played in many bands throughout my life. In fact, I met my wife when we played in a band together. I am a guitarist and singer, and she plays the piano and mandolin.
I recently started writing a blog called Love.Think.Speak., that is about art and spirituality. I write poems, and articles for the blog and then illustrate them. The blog is mostly a public journal where I can work out my ideas about art and spirituality. The art and writing are by no means polished works.The blog keeps me accountable and working.
My passion is art. I love thinking about it, writing, about it, and creating it. My hope and dream is that I will one day become a professional writer and illustrator.
